This 240mm Kiritsuke is a true one-of-one custom—there is only one like this.
Designed from the ground up for those who want presence on the board without sacrificing control, this piece was developed in direct collaboration with Nguyên in Hanoi, Vietnam. Known for his bold geometry and confident forging, Nguyên shaped this blade with intent—long, precise, and unapologetically functional.
The profile delivers authority: a long cutting edge paired with added heel height for stability and knuckle clearance. The Kiritsuke tip keeps things sharp and controlled for finer work, making it just as capable in detail as it is in heavy prep.
At the core is 52100 carbon steel, chosen for performance. It sharpens easily, takes an extremely refined edge, and holds it through real kitchen use. Thin behind the edge with a smooth cutting feel, it delivers that clean, confident performance you notice immediately.
The blade is clad in stainless steel, with subtle nickel and copper shims layered between the core and cladding. These lines add depth and structure without overpowering the look—refined, restrained, and unmistakably custom.
What makes this piece truly unique is the handle. Fitted with a full stabilized wood handle, this build was designed around balance and visual flow. The tones are soft, controlled, and intentionally understated—no loud contrasts or aggressive colors. Just a clean, modern transition from blade to handle that feels cohesive and effortless.
This is for someone who wants something modern—but not flashy. Something unique—but not loud.
There are no duplicates, no variations, and no restock on this exact configuration. What you see here is the only one.
As with all our customs, Kakushin completed the final assembly in-house to ensure perfect fit, alignment, and balance.
